Before I started writing romances, I was a reader of them first. It started in the sixth grade, when a new friend invited me over to her house after school and showed me a Harlequin Presents. Her mom had a bookcase full of them, and my friend let me borrow a couple. Back at home, I devoured them all, then went to the library where I found even more.
In my younger years, I bought so many romance novels, my bookcase was stuffed full. Every single shelf, every single space. But I slowly realized that not every book I bought and read was a keeper, and I gravitated more toward checking books out from the library instead of buying them. Now, I have a curated collection taking up three shelves on my bookcase of fourteen shelves.
What did I deem good enough to keep forever?
Let’s take a look.
Author with the Most Titles: Jackie Ashenden
I own nine Jackie Ashenden books. I just love her characters, her sex scenes, and her plots.
Author with the Second-Most Titles: Laura Lee Guhrke
I also love Laura Lee Gurke, a historical writer. You’ll notice my shelf is full of a mix of contemporary and historical, my two favorite romance sub-genres.
Author with the Third-Most Titles: Julie Garwood
For a long time, Julie Garwood was my favorite author of all time, and she’s still up there, which is why I own six of her books.
Number of New Adult Books: one
That’s right, I own one new adult book by Sophie Jordan, Wild. It’s Book 3 of The Ivy Chronicles. I used to have books 1 & 2, and while I like them, I don’t love them the way I do Wild, so I got rid of them.
Number of Series I Own: one
Yes, I only own one series. It’s the Surrender trilogy by Lydia Michaels, which consists of Falling In, Breaking Out, and Coming Home.
So there you have it, a deeper look at the romance novels I own.
