Romance Authors on my Bookshelf

I tend to mostly post about my writing, (which I assume is what the majority of people who look at my blog want to read about), but this month I thought I’d share the authors I’ve loved enough to purchase their books. Way back in middle school when I first started reading romance, I bought so many books that my shelves were bursting in no time. Over the years, I’ve learned to borrow a book I want to read out of the library first, and if I love it, buy it. If I don’t love it, I don’t waste money on it. Mindy Klasky has a great, comprehensive list of the most common tropes in romance novels and for fun I went through and picked out the ones I like and dislike. The following are some of the romance tropes that tend to make me want to pick up a book: Second Chance I love reading about two ex-lovers who reconnect and get another chance to make their relationship work. Unfortunately, I’ve discovered this trope can be a tricky one for me to enjoy because so many times the reason for the break up is a lack of communication which …
